Sorry to take this post from the dead. Felt the need to give a bit of history to your pieces
The first jacket you present is the first type DPM uniform used in Portuguese Armed Forces. It was issued to paratrooper regiment in early 90's when the regiment was in transition from Air Force to Army. It was the best camo uniform Portugal had in the last 20 years. It's still seen today on duty
. It's cut is the same as the late ones from the african colonial wars from the 60-70's. That particular piece was from someone of Agrupamento Conjunto-Alfa (Joint Detachment Alpha) from SFOR in late 90's to early 2000. The rank boards are from an Segundo Sargento (Squad Seargent) of the Army who are carreer militaries as officers. Amazingly if you turn those boards 180 degrees you would have another rank, the one of Furriel (dont know any equivalance) that are NCO's.
The second jacket is the latest 3rd type (there was a 2nd type, same material as 1st, different cut more simplyfied) in rip-stop material. This ones where almost good, as material was almost the same as the 1st type. Now days the material is crap and uniforms have a short expectancy life time

Besides the DPM smocks in the pictures above and the ones Albano mentions, there were also uniforms made for the Portuguese UN contingent that deployed to East Timor. These were made in HBT (herringbone twill) fabric, like many of the earlier uniforms made in the 1960s and 1970s for service in Africa. Note the absence of lower pockets.

Cool uniforms and ref pics, I like the way Portuguese DPM fades out and almost blends together, which seems to be the case in the last pic!!

hi steve, not sure, i have a feeling is a special issued to SF and commandos... Portugal economic situation right now is not allowing them to replace all uniforms for this version...
