Hi Duncan, DMC CAS mentioned the attached when I was buying it...

"CG 8415-99-213-6259 is described as:- JACKET, EXTREME COLD WEATHER-TANTALUS 2 (SF) ENSEMBLE - SIZE 114 SMALL - JACKET, THERMAL INSULATED, OLIVE WITH STUFF SACK - THERMALLY INSULATED JACKET WITH ATTACHED HOOD; USED IN COLD CLIMATIC CONDITIONS AS A MID LAYER - COLOUR OLIVE. Items from the TANTALUS Clothing System are generally only issued to Special Forces.

Both the jacket and trousers are made by Carinthia of Austria and were supplied to the MoD by BCB International as an interim solution for use by the Royal Marines and Special Forces, who found the in service Thermal Suit to be deficient in design and thermal properties.
Both the jacket and trousers are commercially available as:-
Carinthia MIG Jacket G-loft and Carinthia HIG 2.2 Trousers G-Loft
The trousers are issued in both Olive Green and MTP. "

The jacket itself is very light weight, ripstop Goretex with waterproof zips. I would say it is slightly more of a fuller jacket with the G Loft insulation compared to the softie style. I managed to get this for £55 brand new, I know they are on e bay for £200 I think!!
