Eww, yes quite a few 'sooty' earplugs, coins, nametags, a pair of ballistics glasses, unit patches, plastic rank clips and once a perfect and edible Hersheys bar, though I suspect the latter was a deliberate gift from a friendly US seller.

I myself often sneak in militaria trinkits into trades or sales, like matching patches or perverted Danish candy. A brand of liqourice is, may the Good Lord help us, called 'Spunk', and is sold in neat little boxes...

The best thing I found was when I bought some Swiss Dress jackets in bulk. One had a perfectly unused leather belt in.

Also I've found patches, ear plugs (unfortunately) and a bus ticket from 1945.

And well done on the bus ticket Fleck; that in it self should sell resonably well on eBay!

Cigarette tax stamp from Belgium, a Petzl light filtre, British Army Air Corps beret badge, motivational patches, and a chewed up pen cap to name a few. It's kind of fun to do pocket checks on new pieces of kit. Laughing

I love the Danish sense of humor Wink

Like most of you, what I usually find are candy wrappers, bits of trash, and the cursed ear plugs. Occasionally I find some uneaten food product (found a granola bar recently) that I don't dare eat. Grenade pin once, that was kinda cool. Broken earbud and bandages in some Polish body armor is my latest useless find. I haven't found good stuff since I bought out a part of a collection. The collector (like me) puts badges in pockets until they can be sewn on.

The only thing I found in uniform pockets was an ID badge for Bagram air base. Needless to say I was very happy.

I have found many different things in webbing and pouches. Even a faded old picture inside the liner of a MKII helmet.

Only thing of note I've ever found in my stuff was the name "Allbright" written in blue pen in the tag area of my Greek lizard set. Seller had no idea what it could've meant, my theory (admittedly a bit outlandish) was that the set had found it's way up to Yugo during the wars and ended up being some SFOR operator's bring-home.

A friend of mine in the UK found a letter in the pocket of one of his NVA shirts, but the ink was too faded to read properly.

Not exactly found *inside,* but I picked up a Carl Isken cap for $2.50, and found this lovely Edelweiss pinned to the side-- and someone had twisted a cloisonne ladybug onto that. Not a bad find, really:

Over the years, I have found candy, candy wrappers, pistachio shells, East German Pfenigs, used handkerchiefs, cough drops, Soviet coins, a letter and envelope in a Soviet Airborne jacket, ear plugs, sand, bloody cotton balls, bloody band-aids, crucifixes, knives, etc.

Some of the cooler finds have been in US items. One time, I bought several 160th SOAR tan two piece fliers suits. When I got home, I was going through the pockets and found a little blue pill. Did a little research and found out that it was a sleeping pill called Ambien.

Another time, I found a Phoenix Jr. infrared beacon in the pocket of a US chest rig I bought.

Probably the best item I have ever found was in the back pocket of a Tactical Tailor chest rig I bought a few years back. In the pocket was a length of 550 cord (paracord)fashioned into a noose AND a wanted list of known local Al-Qaeda terrorists operating in a specefic area. Taped to the back of the wanted list was a sectioned off map of a village in Afghanistan or Iraq.

    1. A watch.

    2. A live 5.56 round - came airmail in a smock from the UK, shows how good customs are.

    3. A USB stick with flight paths and missions over Afghanistan.
