Filupe, now that I look at it...the front velcro square must be for the unit they are serving in, as the 101TKBAT is the same size of patch as the square on the chest, so perhaps that is the answer...not entirely sure.

Nice uniforms you got there!

I'll try to explain something about the place of the patches.



1. Brigade/Division insignia,
This means you can't tell what exact unit he served with, or what his function was.
2. Rank insignia (Private first class),
3. Place for a nametape,
4. Unit insignia (101TKBAT),
Which stands for 101 Tank Battalion (uses Leopard 2A6 Main Battle Tanks for example).
