I think it may be a British Para Smock Experimental PECOC Hybrid DPM jacket.

Looking to see what it actually is! Can anyone ID it?

Picked it up for £25 at a Carboot sale years ago!

    Thanks

    Will

Looks like a PECOC example to me! The program appears to have been much larger than I had originally thought. I'm finding new stuff all the time.

BTW, that is not "hybrid" DPM. That's 3 color desert. Hybrid refers specifically to a 4 color pattern of bright green and two browns on a tanish background. It was only used for field kit, not uniforms.

I'm not finding much of anything, actually Sad I've got some pieces in various cuts and colors, but not nearly as many as I want.

I've been meaning to start up a discussion for us to pool our resources together and figure out what all the variants are. I'll try and take pictures of all my items this week and get that started.

Oh wow. I didn't know they'd even made smocks in that pattern.
    Very nice.

I love PECOC kit.... just wish I could find more of it. It only seems to show up sporadically, and I'm usually last to know, so I miss out! Laughing

Noticing the mesh lining and pocket bottoms I think it's the desert version of Smock Combat, Wind proof, Mk2 (Modified). Made to a similar pattern to the Woodland (DPM) version but using a lighter weight mesh. The specification states an issue date of 31 October 2002, but the Operational Clothing Catalogue states: "Modified garment not yet procured, and despite it being assigned NSNs 8415-99-926-3742 to 3756 it never was. So more Tantalus than PECOC if I'm right - but a rare find nonetheless.

Wow thanks for the info...so MK2/Tantanalus instead of a PECOC garment. Interesting!! Thank you for the info, I was looking at it and thinking it doesn't look PECOC but I guess you never know!!
