Yes, all commercial. SPEKON is similar to Propper in the US. It's a very large company which does make legitimate BW items, but also makes a huge amount of stuff that isn't. Since they have access to the uniform patterns, snaps, buttons, etc. it's easy for them to simply swap the BW cloth for something else. SPEKON has made several variations of Woodland. One looked similar to the colors in Turkish uniforms so they were often mis-represented as Turkish.

I'm glad you raised this question Duncan, there's a stack of this exact type down my surplus store, they are marked up as "Eastern European Camo shirts"..now I know their true origin!!!!

I find this jacket today on polish Allegro service, marked up as "rare original germany trial camo". Now I know what is it.

They are often found on German eBay marked exactly the same way Wink Besides being misrepresented as "Turkish", I've also seen clueless sellers saying they are "NATO uniforms". Technically speaking, there is no such thing.

Just for being a woodland type pattern it's proof enough for it's legit. But that's for who knows a bit on german recent uniform history. In other hand it's quite difficult to notice it's a fake when the labeling are in the correct Bundes specifications Shocked

    How could this be???

But then when we see things like these everything is possible Rolling Eyes

Anyone as an idea what the hell is this uniform!?

    Best regards

I've seen that picture too, but never seen an explanation for it. I have a recently published (and expensive) book which shows all kinds of one-off experimental items, but nothing about this uniform.

The book is called... and get ready for it, because it is a German book remember... "Das Ausstattungssoil der Heersangenhörigen der Bundeswehr von 1955 bis 2010". Now, say that 10 times fast Very Happy The author is Lothar Schuster. The book is fantastic and a great compliment to the slightly earlier "Von der Affenjacke zum Tropentarnanzug" by Kunstwadl.

These books are designed for collectors and students of German uniform development post war. As such, the information is quite detailed and the pictures excellent. Not 100% complete, since nothing is, but covers loads of stuff that even advanced collectors aren't aware of.
