Re: Alex' Uzbek camo set
I really love the colors in the Uzbek uniform. This appears to be one of the more recent issued types, yes? Thinner fabric than Soviet uniforms?
I remember negotiating for my first set on a cellphone while walking around helping my mother-in-law move. At least something good happened that day

Re: Alex' Uzbek camo set
thanks guys ...
@Steve ... I do love the colouration, too and yes it is made of lighter and a bit thinner material than the soviet/russian uniforms ... this uniform is from 1996

Interesting! Mine is cloth similar to Soviet era and has no "bleed through" of colors like yours does (that is why I suspected thinner cloth). I can't read a date on my set, but I think it was made after 1996 because it was secured at Ft. Bragg by an officer participating in cross training in the early 2000s.
So it seems they used thinner cloth to start and then moved back to Soviet era type cloth. I'm a little surprised as I would expect the opposite.

Re: Alex' Uzbek camo set
@Andreas, thank you
@ Steve, hmm strange indeed ...
on the other hand maybe it is just like with all the other "ex-Soviet" states ... different producers of gear in a country use different cloth, hence the colouration differences and the cloth material differences, too, not? Have you got any pics of your set? or did you post it here already?
Thanks

Re: Alex' Uzbek camo set
3 Uzbek Summer Hats "Panamas" ...
the left one is for Uzbek Border Guards, the middle on for regular Uzbek troops / (mountain troops ) and the right one in a sort of "Barvikha/VSR-93" camo, still sporting soviet insignia, but produced in Tashkent, perhaps made for Russian troops stationed in the formerly south soviet republics not sure about it, though ...
some details:
Enjoy!
