Hi all, picked this utility hat up today at a local Goodwill thrift store. Looks to be vintage and not a fake. Can someone tell me a little about it? I cant find anything online about this specific version. Whats weird is the two small "pockets" on the front above the bill. I assume its USMC from WW2 (P42 jungle camo?). Its very beat as you can see and the tag is pretty much gone.

Hi Dan,
French used this kind of cap in the same cut (locally made in unit)but with authentic material. Yours seems to be a kind of ripstop not WW2 ! so I suppose it's one of the montain of copies
The 2 pockets were used for paquets of cigarettes or zippo lighter
