Strange 6-colours Desert Daytime Jacket

Hi All
I bought this really strange jacket dated 1982.Elvis collar ,No inside liner in the upper back , reinforced elbows
all pockets have been stitched shut except bottom left pocket Desert day time pattern,Who Can ID this? Please~

Well according to my US army friend, stitched shut pockets with are often used to make the BDU look sharper for parades/dress. Here's a 3 color like that.

This is most likely a U.S. Air Force Desert BDU its very common to see them with there pockets sewn shut , the Velcro is for name trade badge sometimes on a leather patch .

Regarding the jacket from the original post... it looks to be an original very early issue jacket. The chest badges are odd, but perhaps they were made "in theater". The unit badges are full color which I think is OK for a jacket from this time period. Looks like 173rd Airborne?

Unit patches are for 187th RCT. They were in Desert Storm, but I dont think they wore that patch. Breast badges are placed very incorrectly. It all looks hand sewn. Not unusual, as I hand sewed a lot of my insignia. I don't like the color patches tho. Maybe for a color guard, but I don't think they'd let the CIB and jump wings go. Way outside regs. Great jacket, but I think the insignia was added.
