    Ran into this set a while back and would like to tease out some more information.

    It appears to be French made, and the unusual style of lizard leads me to believe it might be a Middle Eastern contract. I know Shah-period Iran imported something vaguely similar from France:

    Your photo is dated 2001, that is far more recent than I would have suspected. It looks like a 1970s piece.
