The badge depicts a parachute canopy as a symbol of airborne units around the world. Spread wings, a symbol of the fact that the airborne units, is a strike from the sky. Moreover, the wings are the Archangel Michael.

In the world, he is considered the patron saint of warriors in general, and skydivers in particular. In Europe, paratroopers believe Archangel Michael as their patron. Like the commander of the heavenly host, Michael has a sword of fire, with which he burns filth with holy fire. On the emblem is a sword with a fiery (wavy) blade edge down.

There are quite a few preserved Cossack flags, which depict precisely the fiery sword of Archangel Michael. He served as the patron of the Army of Ukraine. The direction of the blade is a symbol of a strike from heaven on the ground and a symbol of the fact that the paratroopers are led by their patron in battles.

Now 59 countries of the world (where amphibious units are not at the same time special operations forces) use maroon beret. In particular, these are 19 NATO countries. In some countries, airborne units performing the role of special forces use green berets.

Only 6 (!) Countries of the world use now blue color for their airborne units: Russia and the countries that have recently been dependent on it: Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Belarus. Bulgaria is the only exception (the country is not an ex-USSR) uses the blue beret for the special forces unit.

For the whole world, the blue beret is a symbol of international peacekeeping forces, formed by a decision of the United Nations.
