Turkmenistan Summer Afghanka Uniform

Recently acquired, just a standard 1980's khaki summer afghanka but with a cockade/cap device of the recently independent Turkmenistan on the kepi. Also came with the trouser belt.
I've heard they also wore black M88s in the early-mid 90's, seen one or two for sale.

nice find Nate, well done.
It is true they were using black 'Afgankas', too ... mainly for Tank Troops. I saw a guy recently offering one on ebay, not even that expensive. I was actually considering buying it, but it was not my size.
Unfirtunately I have the habbit in buying only what I can wear, too ... Smile

Another Turkmen item, an older NPO-SM style kepi in VSR-93, with early enameled metal cockade from the post-independence period.
The earflaps are stitched up and non-functional.
