What do you guys think of this uniform? Wondering if it is genuine? Has 1945 date on the stamp.

Re: Russian autumn ameoba suit
It's beautiful! Which, of course, makes me suspicious The only outfit I know that has been doing reproductions is Trident. However, I don't think he has his stuff stamped.
The problem is China is now churning out tons of really good WW2 Russian reproductions. There's a number of excellent uniforms and field equipment out now. I'm going to guess that sooner or later, if not already, the WW2 camo stuff will be cranking out as well.
Hopefully Chris will come along and give his opinion.

Re: Russian autumn ameoba suit
It's only a hunch but I think it might be repro because:
a.) I know there are reproductions of this uniform available, and
b.) Every stamp or picture of a stamp I have seen on similar garments have been quite crude - this one is perfect, like the person deliberately stretched out the material and carefully placed the stamp on.
Nevertheless, the uniform looks quite good and I wouldn't mind owning one (for the right price!)

Re: Russian autumn ameoba suit
Hello Martin,
The construction of your uniform looks authentic to me. The stamp does not look quite right to me, however.
Here is a photo of the stamp in a WWII amoeba smock along with a picture of a stamp from a post war winter smock. The stamps that I have seen, in original 2 piece uniforms, have all the factory, article, date and size information contained within the box outline. I have not seen a stamp with a size stamp located outside the box like yours.
Also – I have only seen size “1”, “2” and “3” stamps in Russian uniforms. I have never seen a size “4” stamp before.
Here is a close-up of the pocket on the WWII amoeba smock so that you can compare the construction with your uniform.
I am not sure if your uniform is original or not. Is the pocket design on your uniform similar to the photo above?
Erick

Stamp looks too good, not sure it's legit, but I'm not an expert on the old sov. camo.

Thanks for your opinions.
Erick has a valid point with that #4 outside the box... I'll try to get some shots of the pockets.
Martin.
