Hey guys, thought I'd share and ask you all about something I'd found and was reminded of recently.
A little while back, I found a pair of trousers in the standard M/98 cut, with what seemed like genuine Norwegian military tags and marks, but printed in a digitized version of their standard M/98 woodland camouflage pattern.
They were contracted in 2011 by Cato Ringstad, one of if not the largest uniform supplier for the Norwegian military.
Then, not long ago, a post was made on the Camouflage Addicts FB group which showed photos from a Norwegian forum of a matching jacket in the digital woodland, as well as a patched digital desert version of the M03/04 desert pattern.
These originally came from this thread:

With this, I checked out both the Norwegian Media Bank as well as Cato Ringstad's website, and both yielded some photos of the desert version being worn in Afghanistan:
The first conjoined photo is from CR's website, while the patrol photo is from the Media Bank of soldiers from the Telemark Battalion's task unit on patrol in the Jalaier Valley in the Faryab province in northern Afghanistan, though no date is provided for any of them. I was unable to find any photos of the woodland variant being worn/tested.
Going to CR's website, the conjoined photo is featured on their main page, and going to the bottom of their clothing products you'll find they offer the digital desert uniform (but not the woodland one):
https://www.cato-ringstad.no/
I was wondering if anyone has found any other examples of the digital patterns, photos of either (especially the woodland) being trialed by the Forsvarets, or know of any other examples and their contract dates or maybe some articles about them to try and pin down a date range for the production and trials.
Enjoy!
