I got this as a gift from Mr. Ken Conboy: T-Block / T-MOUT USMC experimental urban camouflage in a PASGT vest. This vest was part of the gear used during Operation Urban Warrior in 1999, a US Marine Corps exercise focused on urban warfare tactics.
Around 6,000 Marines participated, all equipped with shirts, pants, and helmet covers in this pattern. However, only a few wore the PASGT vest in this camouflage (many opting for black or woodland vests instead.
As discussed in another forum, this vest is mislabeled as "DESERT" instead of "URBAN". In short, the manufacturer (UNICOR in this case) used existing stock labels intended for desert camouflage to save on production costs since it is experimental and the vest is harder to produce than the uniform.
The "DESERT" label it's consistent across all known examples, including those owned by respected collectors
