I don't see a thread for Polish dress uniforms in this section, so there may be little interest in the topic. Nevertheless, I hope someone here recognizes this tunic and will be able to tell me what it is.
If I am not mistaken, the ribbon bars are for the Great Poland Uprising Cross and the Order of Poland Restored, so the wearer was likely an older man (of smallish stature but with a biggish belly), who received the awards between 1957 and 1974. The buttons are of the pre-communist style seen before 1952(?).
The uniform was attributed to a "ceremonial guard" by the seller. If so, I suspect it was worn by the ceremonial guard of some veterans' association, rather than a branch of the active military, as I have never seen a photo of it being worn by the latter. Perhaps I have not been looking in the right places?
