Possible DDR Experimental Camouflage Patterns Empty Possible DDR Experimental Camouflage Patterns

Post by CollectinSteve Sun Dec 22, 2024 6:57 am

I've been meaning to post these for the last few years.  I got these swatches of cloth from a German eBay seller and I'm not sure what they are.  He didn't have any information either, but thought they were from the 1970s.  The cloth and printing is consistent with that thinking, but honestly they could be anything.  To me they do "feel" like 1970s DDR, as if that means anything Smile

Three green versions that seem to be a variation on theme.  The first two might be the same pattern but with the colors swapped around.  With such small swatches (roughly 8.5"x10.5") it's tough to tell.

And the fourth one is a brown type that is quite different than the others.

Awesome!! Thanks for that information. The pictures of a full uniform are amazing! I've never heard of this type before. It must be very, very, very rare.

The first pattern you posted is reminiscent of the SS Planetree Platanenmuster. The website you posted, mentioned that these patterns disappeared very quickly. I wonder if the Soviets encouraged the abandonment of the trials because of this similarity.
