These suits were made of US material, imported from the States, the manufacturer only assembled the uniforms in Hungary. The first contingent sent to Afghanistan and Iraq was equipped with these uniforms + Propper-made desert hats and Altama boots. In November 2004 the uniforms were replaced by the 4 colour desert suit, developed by a hungarian firm, Pannonflax. The Altama boots were also changed to Haix desert boots.

Hi Steve, I'm sorry I can't help. Although I know an army surplus depot where dozens of desert uniforms are lying around (they were declared for surplus due to bad storage), but sadly the army doesn't want to sell those items :-(
Another possibly source was former army members. Just a few weeks ago I've seen an old guy standing in the tram station, wearing a set of 3 colour desert pattern uniform (I'm sure he served formerly in a desert mission, either in Afghanistan or in Iraq), but I was not enough brave to ask him wheter if he wanted to sell his uniform maybe ... bounce

A never existed "fantasy" uniform, made of trial 2003 (3 colour print pattern) rip-stop camo material, which was tested, but never adpoted by the army.

    Hi Tamas,

Wow! What a crazy pocket on the left breast! No wonder the Army rejected it. I don't think most soldiers would be caught dead in something looking like that Smile
