NICE jigsaw camo, Steven! I have a field smock in this pattern...one of my favourite "odd" patterns.

Awesome set. I really like the later Belgian jigsaw patterns but can never find anywhere that sells them. Belgian jigsaw shirts as well really like them but can never find them. Count me as being jealous of this one. Nice stuff.

We were first issued these lightweight sets when deploying to Somalia in 1993.
At that time we only had the heavier smock and the slightly different lightweight trousers than the ones depicted here.
We always joked about the smock as being "All-weather"; t-shirt and smock during summer, added the British type wooly pully and cammo scarf (face veil) in winter.
This set, being dated 1994, was used by members of 1 Para and 2 Commando while on UN duty in Ruanda. When we (3 Para) deployed for Operation Silver Back to rescue evacuees from Ruanda that same year, we were not issued new sets. We wore what was left from our Somalia tour the year before.
Hence, ours were dated 1993.
