Since 99% of this is Army related, thought it might fit here.

As you can see, I am a helmet/headgear 'ho. They seem to be my focus on collecting. The airborne camo helmet and the MP are "fake" or repro etc.. everything else is original.

    Nice helmets!

    Pretty kickass Joe collection too.
I know they're probably not all GI Joe, but a friend of mine who collects & displays just calls them Joes as a blanket term, and it rubbed off on me. lol!

Thanks! And Joe is fine. Or what I, and many in the hobby call mandollies, manbarbies, battlebarbies, etc.. Laughing

Just realized I need to resize the pics, they are cutoff.

    I dig this DCU display!

I just noticed the gloves on the shoulder of torso mannequin. It's a weight lifting gloves, isn't it? Mine look similar and from the same brand. lol!

    Thanks again guys!

Paul, being divorced and a dedicated bachelor, it is definitely a mans home. Any ladies who come are temp company, lol. My boys and i call our home the Manstle. Mans castle!

Merc, they are. I used them in Iraq. Loved the palm grip they give, along with the fingerless touch. They are like a second skin, but rather salty now. Literally , lol.

I have a question for you... When you have some female companions visiting you.... Do they ever find it strange that you collect 1/6 and militaria?

When people enter my room, they find me to be strange to have a mannequin and all those militaria on the display!

Yeah brother, sometimes. Mostly the mandollies. Although most think it is "cute" and I get teased about it in a good natured way. Besides, it is a good litmus test. If they cannot accept it, then I know upfront that my association with them will be very short. No sense in letting things go further and waste each others time. KWIM? Without going to far into details, I had one lady friend who was over awhile ago. Dinner, candles, fireplace cracklin real nice, etc.. Who stopped and said " God, I feel like I am on a stage. They are all staring at me!" Laughing Laughing Laughing

BringMe, thanks! I was semi smart, and kept many of my personal items from over the years. I knew one day they would be allowed to escape the confines of the footlockers and duffel bags, and set free for display!

Looks good! cheers I'm open about the collection from the start.. It's a BIG part of who/what I am.. If they don't like it, we aren't gonna mesh.. Course, mostly I stay single.. Less noise about forgeting a date but not a gun show, spending more money on the collection than her, blah, blah.. etc. LOL My mandollies are spread all over the house.. the demon spawn found them.. At least they aren't naked like her barbies and bratz.. I bet ole' Joe thinks he died and went to the Mustang Ranch!!

    Hahahahahaha, yeah, bet he does!!

My ex used to be a in home daycare provider, and one of her little girls would have a blast with my mandolls and her barbies together! She was adorable and my best allie too, as she would vehemently defend the Joes when she would hear someone call them "dolls". Wished I could have video taped her, as she would get that serious little girl look on her face, stomp her foot, and say very firmly " They ARE NOT dolls. They are SOLDIERS like Mr Mike!!" When I first went out to meet my wife out west, she saw me cleaning an AK magazine that was captured and brought back from Desert Storm. This thing was filthy and I was giving it a good cleaning. She saw me working on it at a table. I explained to her that militaria was part of who I was and if she didn't like it....then we had no future. She said she was "cool" with it and even took me up to LAs Vegas and helped me find some surplus shops. Very Happy She still is pretty much cool with the hobby, but complains about it from time to time. I kind of brush it off because she occasionally will repatch jackets that have had insignia removed. Laughing
