Nice! Original ammo is hard to find. I have a couple boxes of DDR manufactured ammo. I know you can take a .222 or a .223 (can't remember which) shell casing, cut it down, and reshape it for reloading.

I would say that the stripper clip is not period for that ammo. It should be grey metal.
What is the head stamp on the 43 dated one(s)?
MP 43/44 ammo cam be made by resizing/trimming 30/06, 8mm, 7.62 Nato, 270 Win, 300 Savage among others, But Not 5.56/223. That is used to make 9mm blanks.

Stripper is well marked , dated 43 , all original ! I will have to dig it out to get the headstamp , that means finding what box it now resides in LOL .

Wasn't saying the stripper wasn't German, but that it should be grey parked for the 7.9k rds. At least I've never opened a box that had the nickeled strippers.
It is possible that the ammo made in 43 could have been on that type stripper, but not 44-45.

Sarge not saying your wrong , but there is one thing I have learned over the years with German WWII stuff , never say never . pictures keep coming out every year that are amazing the experts , they were using everything at their disposal at the end , even shiny stripper clips , may not have been common , may not have been regulation , but none of that mattered at that point in the war , they used what they had .
