Republican Guard Uniform?

Came across this today at my local surplus store.... guy had 1 complete set and an additional jacket in this pattern.

From what I have gathered it is a pattern worn by the Iraqi Republican Guard. My question is: how common is this uniform, and should I go back to get it?

He also had several others in the same style, but in solid colours (tan and OD), as well as one in the woodland pattern. I'm not into Iraqi uniforms, but if someone here is, I could pick one or two of them up to do a trade with?

If the price is right , I will take it ! including the extra jacket !!!

Steve, you're going to fall over when I tell you they guy has them for $10 apiece, unless he's not selling one as a uniform and charging extra for the pants, I will have to double check.

Is there any way we could we maybe work out a trade of some sort?

These are probably recent issue, not Saddam era RG. The tag will tell you for sure which one it is, as I can't remember what detail differences there are between the two uniforms. Either way, it's cheap and you should buy 'em all

The shopkeeper has them labeled as "Jacket, flight"... I didn't tell him otherwise for fear of him jacking the price up knowing what they really are.

Actually I had a set of these, apparently the iraqis made huge quantities of these. It appears to have the correct stamp marks around the neck area. These were used early 2003 and 4 by iraqi national guard, I've got pics also of the sets in use by 36 commando bn ca 2008. Nice stuff I think I sold my set for around $80.

Those are from Saddam Era but still used by new Iraq Army.

Iraqi spot pattern desert camo which now has the award for the worst constructed uniform in my collection !!!! and that says a lot !! I am very glad to have it and the extra shirt , funny thing , one of the shirts buttons dont even come close to lining up with one of the holes , the pieces were never worn and one of the pants pockets is already blown out at the bottom LOL ,I would be horrified to have to fight in these , I would be afraid they would just fall apart LOL .
Both shirts have tags and stamps , the stamps can not be read , the tag is of course Arabic , but I have wanted a set of these for a long time ! Thanks again Ben , I owe you one Bro !
