    The Ethiopian "Kagnew"(Conquerors) Battalion fought alongside the US 7th Division.
    It arrrived in Korea in May 1951 and the following battalions saw service:

    1st Kagnew Battalion Jun 51 — Apr 52
    2nd Kagnew Battalion Apr 52 — Apr 53
    3rd Kagnew Battalion Apr 53 — Apr 54

    Each Battalion consisted of 1200 men.

    In the 3 battalions there were a total of 122 KIA and 566 WIA.

    In total 3,518 Ethiopians served in Korea.

    The following two pictures were taken by me in April 2008 at the Korean National War Memorial. Note the British battle dress and the Ethiopian shoulder tabs and collar badges.

    Ethiopian items from the Korean War are hard to find. Actually, Ethiopian items are hard to find from any era. I troll Ebay all the time, but usually come up empty handed. I have some nice DERG items, but Korean War items from Ethiopia are tough to find.

    Excellent stuff Leigh.

    My Pepere fought alongside Ethiopians in Korea as they were attached to the 7th Division. Some time ago I saw and Ethiopian CIB on eBay but did not have the chance to get it and I've been kicking myself since...it's a BEAUTIFUL badge. Thanks a lot for sharing!
