M-1951 help needed Empty M-1951 help needed

Post by jose ramon Thu Nov 11, 2010 5:42 pm

Hello, I need your help to date this M-1951 field coat.
I really love the M43, M-1951 and M65s. I received the jacket today. It is in a not so bad shape, some missing snaps, some small paint spots, a repair and fraying in the collar.
I know the label is faded and difficult to read. I guess 6425 OI-828-C-56.
Can someone tell me the date of the coat?
    Thanks in advance.
    JR

Well...since it says 1955 on the stamp...I'll take the jacket's word for it. Smile

I think January and October 1955 are pattern dates
OI-828-C-56 Does this code has something concerning to date?

My surname is RUIZ. I have no relation to this M65, me and my family (as far as I know) are 100% Iberian Peninsula.
I would love to see this M65!

Another question about another M-1951 field coat.
The coat has the thread marks from the insignia in the arms.
E-2 private rank in both arms, and a hexagonal patch with square lower angles in the left arm, I think this is a 2nd Army patch.
Can you show me the correct patches for the 50s/60s era?
The jacket has a white name tape with black printed letters.
Here is a diagram with the measures.
