Re: Current Para Helmet
Not a bad deal at all for a brand-new Para lid. Good score!

Re: Current Para Helmet
Graham you are a lucky so and so, £50 is a real bargain Mate...love the hessian and netting cover too
BTW- The Desert Dpm look's cool too, what is it a Windproof ?
I've been in the market for one of these para lid's for a long time, just never seem to see one at the right price,so congrats on getting this one...if it was mine I would be tempted to put on a choc chip/ Brit net..and it would look well cool Mate.
Congrats again

Re: Current Para Helmet
I seen one or two on ebay ( could be the same seller !!) but if I recall ,it was something like £400 or close to that, unissued ..........way to pricey, I will bide my time and wait for one in my surplus shop!!!
I got an unissued Mk6a, for £30,so I can't work why the Mk7 is so bloody pricey

Hi Gary Howzit
I think the mk7s are pricy cos there are not a lot available,
And cos they are shiny and new I know my wife dreads it when I get an attack of shiny kit syndrome Mmmmmmmmm MTP smock shiny oh bugger I think I coming down with an attack I gotta take a cold shower.

I relate Graham,I really do......maybe we need to set up a Combat collectors Widow's forum...and at least they will get to discuss, how exasperating their husbands addictions are!!!!
And I agree with the Mk7 issue, one day they will lose their exclusivity

Widows Forum
I agree that is a good idea but do we want our partners getting together that sounds way too dangerous.
On the Mk 7 front i will wait untill the price has fallen radically.
My must have now that I have got the kevlar para pot is its older brother the mk2 steel para helmet to add to my growing collection of para pots.

Yeah, good thinking about the forum..scrap that idea!!
Ah yes, the Mk2 ..most exclusive ,not to mention very pricey...I nearly won one once on e-bay,I'm still gutted even now, that I got sniped at the last post..
These lids are on my wish list, but I reckon I will be waiting a while

Looks cool Graham, Para's are known to have worn Oz,and US choc chip covers on their lids,so this looks like this kind of "Para Ally " style...nice one

Re: Current Para Helmet
Hi David
That is a nice Para helmet looks good with the MTP cover Bit if it was mine i would have removed the elastic from the cover and put a net over it more para ally but that's just me, But I like how you have slotted the ISAF patch under the scrim band. Mine was purchased new as well I think i paid £50.00 for it but that was a while back, It has gone through several evolutions this is the latest DPM cover Home made net and some fabric scrim off a British army vehicle cammo net all held on by a piece of Land Rover inner tube topped off with a broad elastic band with reflective patches
