I shall have to have a sniff around on eBay and see what I turn up -- I've a package incoming from the UK at the moment, but it's not 100% military... maybe military-ish. It's more of a history geek purchase but I'm well excited for it.

I found a seller on eBay UK with Paddyflage trousers for a good price! Waiting to hear back from him about postage, though.
Gary, here's a hint -- it's something from one of my favourite periods of English history. Can't say much more without giving it away.

Weird, it has a big Canadian button on the trouser flap. You can also see the British S95 design influence, as well. Very nice, Gary! Hopefully I'll have a pair to share shortly as well.

Thanks Ben,glad you like 'em,and I totally agree ,the HUGE canadian buttons, and fit are very S95, what I found interesting is when I lined them up against some French CCE, (as I read the two patterns were almost exact)..err ,nope similiar ,but definetely different...
I used to have some waterproofs ( supplied by work ) that were Portwest too,so that was another interesting aspect!!
I look forward to seeing yours, get a Jacket mate, and at least between us,we will have a set
Cheers Mate

No dice on the socks mate, this piece came a bit before even Oliver's time. It's posted up in the barracks section if you're interested.Easy Gee wrote:Hmmm most intriguing...is it Oliver Cromwells socks

Lucky you! The paddyflage trousers I had mentioned previously slipped out of my grasp at the last minute...outbid by a dollar. What a world we live in!

Thanks Ben, I did get very lucky on this one, I paid 20 quid, and I guess the gods of surplus were smiling on me that day
I relate mate, there is nothing more annoying than being outbid...I have been lucky of late, but occasionally miss oot on new kit by pennies sometimes, really pisses me off, but as you say "what a world we live in".......
Sadly this kit is not that common over here, but if more stuff comes up I will give you a shout mate, no worries
