How can one tell the difference between the Russian and Ukraine versions of this camo?

Re: TTsKO help!
Here is a photo of the Ukrainian pattern sandwiched between Russian brown base and green based TTsKO uniforms.
As you can see the Ukrainian uniform has dark black blotch shapes and has a distinct bright green base color thst results in more contrast in coloration.
The other way you can tell is by looking at the manufacturing stamp for manufacturing dates or city references. Please see this posting:
https://iacmc.forumotion.com/t4038-soviet-4-pocket-ttsko-type-i-uniform-identification-with-photos
Russian/Soviet TTsKO uniforms are getting very hard to find. Nearly all the TTsKO listed on eBay these days is Ukrainian - regardless of what the seller says
Treat it all as Ukrainian unless proven otherwise.
Hope this helps,
Erick

Re: TTsKO help!
The quality of the photo makes it hard to judge the coloration. But, the cut of the uniform along with the fact that there is a tag attached to the collar of the jacket makes me think this is a commercial product - not military issue.

Re: TTsKO help!
That's probably because the Ukraine is still actively producing these uniforms. Russia stopped making them a long time ago and the "Stans" have largely adopted other uniforms completely.

Thread revival.
Anyone hazard a guess on this very tan variant?
I was thinking Moldova but it has no markings whatsoever.
Thanks!

Re: TTsKO help!
I have a couple similar that I posted somewhere and were identified as Moldovan. I think also the single button on the sleeve pockets may be a give away, I think all Soviet/Russian have velcro or two buttons? I may be wrong.

Re: TTsKO help!
Since we're already on the subject, what about this one:
Owner claims it to be a VDV piece and it is dated 1989. The lack of lower pockets makes me inclined to believe he is correct.

Desmond identifies this pattern as Moldovian in his book. The Moldovian pattern has this distinctive backwards "F" shape that is circled in red in the photo below.

Re: TTsKO help!
Nice 2nd Model VDV set. The first had sewn on epaulettes, but was otherwise the same (I think). The Moldovan set is VERY nice.

That's great information Erick, you are an encyclopedia when it comes to Soviet gear.
What sort of ranks were worn with this style of uniform?
