    Not a bad start!! Your pack is WW2 tho. Issued to mountain troops. I think that's the early frame. Looks like you need a buttpack and some of the M-14 pouches.. I've got these if you are interested.

    @1stDivVet: thanks for the suggestions. I was aiming for the basic grunt rig; yes i have a buttpack somewhere. The rucksack is 1952 mountain troop, I thought too it was WWII. However, I saw pics of similar packs on vietnamgear.com with the same frame. Anyway, I always keep an open mind about new information. Cheers mate!
