    I have a 1940 dated Brill Cap...yours is somewhat different having the piling showing on the flaps. Mine just has two layers of serge wool with no piling.

    This is post war 1949 patten. It was the sucsessor to the old ww2 era stuff like postwar battledress and waretime.
