Here is an interesting trial smock which arrived this week. It is a radical departure from any British Army waterproof garments I had previously seen. It seems to be based on the "drop liner" concept used by Arktis and some hunting clothes manufacturers. The structure is the same as the S2000 windproof smocks with a treated polycotton outer. Inside this is attached a membrane shell. Waterproof zips have been used including pit zips. The pocket bottoms are mesh and the hand warmer pockets have been retained.
