82nd Airborne BDU shirt from first wounded trooper in Grenada

This is one of my favorite pieces in my collection. It belonged to an 82nd Airborne soldier who had the dubious honor of being the first 82nd airborne member wounded in action since Vietnam. Needless to say he was also the first wounded in Grenada.
I have copies of his Purple Heart document, photos of him and a letter from him stating this was the shirt he was wearing when he was hit.
Luckily he had the shirt cleaned very well before I got it.

That must be a weird feeling.To be the first of your division to be wounded since the last war.Did he know what he was hit with?

Arch i think is a little known intervention, because it was a huge inteligence fiasco and that almost cost the lives of a lot of people involved, including the hostages.

This was Woodlands debut as a combat uniform.
I bought a set when I visited there in 83 for 100GBP and thought I was the coolest collector in town , also some alice gear .....
Wore that stuff all over Belfast as a kid with pride .

Yes Grenada...lessons learned for ST-6.If I remember right debut of as well of the "Fritz" kevlar helmet.First saw them on the cover of Time or Newsweek magazine then.

I also remember that issue .......along with the M-203 egg cups
