This is my Osprey vest which predates the one shown above, note the colour differences in the materials used.
Other pouches for the osprey system include waterbottle pouches, shotgun cartridge pouches (only ever seen one of these), pistol holsters, drop leg panels, a larger mag pouch for 3 mags, 40mm grenade pouches, UGL pouches. In total there are 5 variations of ammo pouch, unfortunately i only now own one of these.
Thanks for looking George, mine is dated 2007,and looking at your fine example,I realise I badly need the pouches to complete it. I will have to go back to the store where I got it,and find some. The guy strips everything and sell's this sort of stuff separately.
Duncan - I see what youre saying but i've had experiences in the plast where if the pouches arent closed in that way they can be undone so easily when in the field, it happened to me once in my early days and 2 fully bombed magazines fell out! Ive never broken any clips by doing this.
And Gary you must! You'll find many on the good old eBay going for practically nothing these days as im sure youre probably aware.
I know about it - I have the same problems, and I find better solution. Look at CITEK clips in this pic:
In my work I saw more and more pouches with broken lower CITEK's clips because soldiers closed this pouches in Yours style. I think "sniper tape" around upper CITEK's clips part is a better solution.
