I don't know how true this is, but someeone with a lot of knowledge on this has just told me that the Army is very unhappy with the current LARGE MOLLE rucksack, and that a new contract has been let for 30,000 large ALICE packs made of multi cam material. Considering that the Army is looking to replace all other camo, maybe the new ruck will be made with something else. Will be interesting.

Re: Possible new rucksack
A buddy of mine has just deployed to Afghanistan and they where issued OCP Large Alice packs.
This photo of his living quarters is kinda blurry but you can see a bunch of the new OCP Large Alice packs

Re: Possible new rucksack
All of the packs in the picture appear to be MOLLE II's in OCP with sustainment pouches. I know the brigade heading out from Carson all have MOLLE II rucks.
