It has poorly sewn Velcro closures. Both parts are on the inside of the jacket, so it looks silly when closed. They don't line up properly either.

I know there is a Goretex rain suit in French lizard camouflage that was privately purchased and worn by Legionaries, I don't remember exactly how it was constructed but very similar.

It's not Goretex. I have the French Goretex (Porex) trousers (https://iacmc.forumotion.com/t7747-lizard-pattern-goretex-pants). They are well made. This jacket is made of a cheap, thin nylon. The insulation is very thin too. It's probably an African contract item, or locally made from material imported from China or Korea.
