Re: my ddr items
I'll say it again... Strichtarn is boring as Hell when you look at an individual piece. But when you put it all together... wow, what a difference
What boots are you using for your display?

Re: my ddr items
thank you gentlemen for the kind words ,i agree steve the strichtarn items on there own dont get much interest ,i had all this field equiptment so i thought what better way to put it all together than in one display ,im really pleased, your right the boots let it down but maybe in time i will pick up the correct boots ,i know the soldiers never bloused there trouser in the field but only on parades so most of the boot is hidden anyway ,thanks again TC

Re: my ddr items
well a little update ,ive been told by a former nva soldier of this time period that the nbc suit was fitted high up over the zelt using the top D rings of which there are 2 pairs ,then simply held in place by two corded plastic toggles ,as i see it these could be pulled , if need be quickly dropping the suit ,also i was told the entrenching tool was worn on the right side and the bottle the left ,so here's the ammended rear of the display

Re: my ddr items
I just realize, your jacket is from 1967, nice specimen. It is crying for a pair of field shoulder boards.

Re: my ddr items
If NVA marked, you can see here a good example:
http://flaechentarn-kraus.npage.de/1967-strichtarn.html
The shoulder board should be subdued

Re: my ddr items
Jajaja, we are not so many, but very enthusiast!
I am surprised, 1966, I thought the 1966 model has buttons in the outside of the collar, for the hood, interesting. Can you show the cuffs? It has a distintive pattern.

We need a few pictures of that jacket, if you do not mind.
Is to publish in an article we're doing on the strichtarn for the blog.
They indicate who the owner of the jacket.

Re: my ddr items
thanks carlos ,when you say second model do you mean the first type after the blumentarn or was there an earlier pattern strichtarn than mine , another addition ,i realised my e tool cover was in the latter utv style so picked up an earlier example in keeping with the 70/80's theme
