Thanks Andrew.. Mainly know this stuff because I am a former Squid, albeit the Airdale type.
Also, if you notice, on the blueberry blouse and trousers the US Navy and nametapes are embroidered in gold letters. Gold letters are for Officers and CPOs ( Chief Petty Officer ). Silver is for E6 and below.
Nice double Big Red One..

Re: DCUs and BDUs
Andrew,
Another good one..
Looks like at some point Mr. Young was attached to 83rd. ARCOM. Probably during a large construction project.
Not uncommon to see US Army SSIs worn on blouses from other services .
I have a couple of USAF blouses somewhere with 82nd Abn. SSIs and jump wings.
CIBs and other appropriate decorations are authorized for wear to those who earn them while attached to an US Army unit.

Re: DCUs and BDUs
Yes, I had seen army SSIs on the air force BDUs, but this is the first one I have come upon for the navy. Thanks.

I agree; I picked this one out of a pile of about 50. Most of the rest were fully or partially stripped.

Hello, does anyone here know if it is possible somewhere to get a new set of original ( no tru-spec or other copies) woodland B.D.U.'s 50/50 nyco cotton in Large?

PM sent.
Here is a really nice blueberry blouse from a test pilot/squadron commander. This blouse is near mint as this officer basically lived in a flight suit..

Re: DCUs and BDUs
Thanks Andrew..
These do not come up very often...
I have 2 or 3 other similar USAF BDU blouses, but this is my first one with 2 SSIs.
The other 2 blouses in that post are not too bad either..

Re: DCUs and BDUs
Yes, have seen the blue parachute wings on the loose, but I don't think I have any on a uniform.
Note that this jacket is a commercial example with slightly abbreviated sleeves.

[quote="Wolverine"]Yes, have seen the blue parachute wings on the loose, but I don't think I have any on a uniform.
It's sometimes difficult to notice that USAF issue breast insignia embroidery on BDUs is blue and olive while similar US Army insignia is black on olive.
The USAF blouse I posted has blue type insignia, name tapes, and rank. Only SSIs are black on olive because they are US Army issue.
Your blouse has black on olive para wings. This is very common ; I have a couple of similarly patched BDU blouses. There seems to be no official directive on the cross use of breast insignia on battle uniforms.
I must point out that USAF issue blue on black Air Assault wings are seldom seen on BDU blouses.
