My guess, and it is a wild one, is Iranian of some sort. I hope that's good enough to win the all expenses paid trip to Hawaii. That is the prize for a correct guess, yes?

Good guess Steve..... middle eastern was always going to be about right!!!... But it looks like Vika has nailed it !!! THANKS!!!... Bunging Kuwaiti patch in the ole search donkey, brings up this very same patch from different sources.... And some cool camel ones too!!! Sorry guys no trip to Hawaii this time!! It seems somebody spent all the Prize Money on more militaria !!!! Thanks again for you help!!

It is Kuwaiti 42nd Reserve Battalion. ASMIC Trading Post has a good id section on Kuwaiti patches. Apparently, after the first Persian Gulf war, the Iraqis despoiled the military supplies, so the Kuwaitis got rid of all their patches and made new ones. Troops brought them home as souvenirs. I can scan a copy of the article and send it to you????
