Here is my Gulf War set up. I still need the desert NBC suit and the rubber band/door insulation for the rim of the helmet I have and the sand and wind goggles.

It is the TAP model grenade pouch. You can see that they would roll them like in this picture from Operation Turquoise in Rwanda:

I love the AK bayonet on the guy on the right. I have seen numerous photos of them doing this in operation Turquoise. Very nice OP Daguet setup, by the way. I think you should try and get a "Cheche" too, nothing spells french like a bit of vintage fashion, and they are very practical in the desert!

Very neat - looks like a French version of the M1938 wirecutter pouch is hooked to the belt to the right of the TAP magazine pouch?

Yes, the TAP magazine pouches were used in CRAP units for holding MP5 magazines, no Eagle Industries pouches for the French!

Just found this photo today and decided that this was probably an appropriate place to post it. I was at first intrigued by the use of an M16 w/ M203, but also notice the guy's chest rig!

Very interesting. I think it's safe to conclude that the M16 and the MP5 SD indicate these guys are special forces.

Thanks for the info! I thought they might be marine commandos because they seem to be the only ones armed with M16s that I usually see.

The out-sole of the BMJA-65 boots (right guy) seem terrible, as if they were torn and worn out, after dancing on camp's fire ...)))
I have never seen the out-soles of such boots in so bad condition.
Any ideas what could happen with them?
