Just to share these two multi terrain cover's i have for the brit mk7 helmet ,my question is why the differance ,the one with the scrim is more like the older mk6 cover in style with horizontal and vertical foliage bands, the other has only two horizontal foliage bands and no reinforced ear section's yet both show mk7 label's ,hope you dont mind the ask ,cheers james MTP mk7 helmet cover question 003_zps9ojvc1lnMTP mk7 helmet cover question 006_zpsjgveohv6 MTP mk7 helmet cover question 005_zpsjhwkczh5   MTP mk7 helmet cover question 028_zpsf9xyzmyk

New directive scrim must be applied.  If you have a Mk7 Helmet you are supplied with a bag of MTP off cuts to scrim your helmet up (or should be) but if you still have the MK6A you are not supplied with the bag of scrim and are expected to find it yourself (but it must still be MTP)

The newer type with less elastic and no re-enforced ear pieces is cheaper to produce

And the newer covers are shaped to fit whereas the older ones were just Mk6 copies(in MTP) and originally for the Mk6A.

Hence the over use of sniper tape to keep them in place. The old type covers if new were a bugger to keep in place due to the elastic being well, elastic so a tip was to use a cover one size up from the size of the helmet.
