Brushstroke Uniform

Not an original grouping but both in similar condition and size.










The trousers are missing their tag but have "BST DARE" written on the interior of the waistband, not sure of its significance.





The shirt was made by Paramount, a common feature I've noticed with their shirts are the "batwing" pocket flaps as opposed to the "V" ones from Statesman, for example.
It has a significant amount of writing on the interior, which I wrote down to the best of my abilities:

I emailed Mr. MacKenzie of South Africa Militaria a couple years back for any information he could find on it, to which he responded:


"...just checked and have no record of this man.

His name sounds Indian.

The RFN stands for Rifleman, which was his rank.

DRR stands for Depot The Rhodesia Regiment, where most Rhodesia Regiment soldiers did their basic training..."





Any info anyone else might have is greatly welcome!

Got a couple more pieces a few years ago, and retook some better pics of the brushstroke set.
First, the new pics, starting with the shirt:







And the trousers:








Now the new pieces, starting with a very nice condition bush jacket, has been washed but doesn't appear to have
been put through any hard use.
There's no missing buttons or drawstrings, and it doesn't appear to have been modified in any way.
A faint "1977" production date can still be read on the tag with some scant other info.
Most interestingly are the pair of Selous Scouts Captain's rank slides on the epaulets.
I have my doubts they are original. Maybe original slides, but at the very least I don't think they are original to the jacket.
I looked up the initials "FW" once shortly after I first got the jacket in a database of known Selous Scouts members but nothing came
up for anyone who served with the initials FW anywhere in their name, but for the sake of them possibly being original I kept them on there.

The seller also threw in a free private purchase brushstroke T-shirt, really swell guy.
The colors and shapes on the shirt aren't too far off of the original pattern compared to some other ones I've seen. The only marking is the
size "L" tag in the collar. It has a typical 70's t-shirt cut with longer, tight fitting sleeves with somewhat rounded trims.
