No longer authorized for wear and rarely worn or purchased even when they were. Used with the full mess dress, they could be worn indoors. Both of these belonged to the same lady. The regular Officer version is from the late 70's and the field grade or command officer version is from the early 80's and includes the original box it came in. Address shows that she was at the War College when it was sent. Lucky for me, she stored them both together in the box! I also got her regular dress covers. Both of these are black velvet with full bullion embroidered emblems and oak leaves.
