Re: Veran
It is a really nice uniform! I managed to pick one up years ago and have added boonie, patrol cap, and helmet cover to the mix. All officially tagged.
There was a guy on German eBay that had patches at one point. I bought some for my uniform, I think. But I've not seen him with any for several years now. That's the only source I found.
Keep in mind that the uniforms were issued in very small numbers for a brief time before being abandoned. The uniforms I've seen are dated 11/15 a and 12/15, the headwear that I have area all dated 10/15.

Re: Veran
Thank Steve,
Have wanted a legit Veran for some time, and in fact have had the patches for a few years in anticipation of finding one .
Have found a couple sources for headgear.. I really like this pattern ; it is quite unique among current patterns. Shame it has had such a short service life..

Re: Veran
Well Ripcord, if you would like to part with the patches I would be a buyer lol. If you keep an eye on ebay the issued uniforms come up rarely, that's where I got mine. It spelled Varan if you enter the search

Re: Veran
The 79th is one of the few units that was issued the uniform, so that is a very nice addition to your jacket. They were provided by a volunteer organization. They sourced 800 uniforms with 2 per soldier being the standard issue. So, basically, a single battalion.
Here they are on the day they got a batch of uniforms delivered:

Re: Veran
These uniforms are often misrepresented as Airborne uniforms, but I am fairly confident the 79th and 80th Brigades are Air Assault formations.

Re: Veran
Correct, though most people don't think there's a difference between Air Assault, Air Mobile, and Airborne. To be fair, in practice they are both employed as ground forces so not much "air" in these formation type
I just confirmed mine is badged for 80th Air Assault Brigade. Unfortunately, no rank badge. I now remember why... the seller had a half dozen or so in one auction and wanted a fair amount of money for them so I skipped it thinking I'd find a solo example later. Nope.
