    Calling upon all you experts out there!

    Came across this interesting cap dating from the 1920s-1930s as it doesn't appear in any of my many reference books. If it DOES appear in one of your books, would you kindly cite which book and page number? Not that I don't believe you, it's just that I like to have lots of printed, hardcopy reference materials available at my fingertips!

    Yes, the original neck closure is long, long, LONG gone and someone hastily sewed what appears to be a shoelace.

    Tried doing a Google Image Search of the spec tag but that went nowhere....

    Could this MAYBE be a CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) item???

    ADDENDUM: It seems that what I have is a US M-1907 cap, the early version with tie tapes before they modified it with a buckle and strap...
