French F-1 Jacket?

Here's the one I have that looks like Sarbaz's. All my friend's fiance knows about it is that her X husband had it. She thought it was one of his he had while stationed in Germany. I haven't touched it other than to wash it and iron it.



These are the shoulder straps. The rank looks like an Obergefreiter and a little like a gefreiter(UA). Neither are the same tho. The other is very faded, but was once a UN Blue color.

It's made of cotton hbt material. Has pebble finish snaps

Thats right , But the German rank is on the wrong site.... The rank is Obergefreiter UA

Why would German rank be on a French jacket? I got it this way from a friend's fiance. It belonged to her X husband. She doesn't know where he got it. He was in the US Army in the early 90's. I know it may just be doctored, and will remove the stuff once I know it doesn't go on the jacket or will put it how it goes if it does. Any idea what the blue tab on the other strap may be? Possible worn for UN duty?
