Jordanian 6-Color Uniform Empty Jordanian 6-Color Uniform

Post by nkomo Tue Mar 01, 2011 8:50 am

I picked this set up this weekend. The seller told me this set was used during Desert Sorm. I am not 100% sure that is correct, as Jordan was a supporter of Iraq during DS I and didn't send any troops for the Arab Cooalition. Whatever the case, it was a uniform meant to be worn around English speakers as the name tape and country tape are in English. I am thinking maybe part of the Bright Star exercises. Any thoughts?

Also.....this 6-Color set is US made and has been modified by the owner. Loops and buttons have been added to the shoulder area to facilitate the wearing of Jordanian shoulder rank. The pants have had several large loops with buttons added for the wearing of a pistol type belt. The pants leg have also been shortened and tailored in.

    Great set Arch!

I know Jordan has 6 Color NBC suits and, for a time, wore 3 Color Desert uniforms. I don't know if they used surplus US 6 Color uniforms or not, but they did wear what looks to be standard 6 Color Desert BDUs at one point. The one tiny picture I have shows a name tape over the right breast pocket, just like yours. Certainly the shoulder rank arrangement on this uniform is correct for a Jordanian uniform.

Thanks for the compliments! This a little out of my collecting area, but the price was decent enough. It may be up for sale soon, as I need to make up some of the money I spent last weekend.

    Hi arch,

Thant's a nice set you don't see everyday.

I have a similar set, my brother acquired when he was still in the army and he traded with a Jordanian soldier... At first i thought it was jordanian air force because of tag, but JAF actually mean jordanian armed forces

Thanks for the comment, Danilo. Do you have any idea what time frame the Jordanian Armed Forces used the 6-Color pattern camouflage?

    Hi arch

Well I can't say when they entered operation, but my brother got it around 99-2000 - the guy also gave a Jordanian woodland.
I'll try to dig some more info

    Cheers
