Even US WWII, Canadian Ect Badges, Patches are Repo I see on a daily bases. USMC is repoed so much It's a crying Shame.
The TAG must be very specific and especially the Material of the tag. What was posted as info from others, If I can remember
correctly. After production stopped They had extra Tags not Stamped with size and date left over and some thing about the Stamper
to print the Letter on the tag. The Stamp for the Size and date is stamped later with a different Stamp in which the Style of
lertting is very specific, and the Zipper is different on them?
The Marine Corps’ M1953 lower torso armour was standardized on 18th June 1953 after successful testing by the 1st Marine Division in Korea.1 It was designed to be worn with the USMC M1952 flak vest, or its M1955 successor, and was fabricated from ballistic nylon, weighed approximately 3lbs and featured a side zipper fastener. Commonly referred to as 'Flak Diapers', the shorts were rarely worn in the field in Vietnam, but Marine Corps air-crewmen would often sit on a pair to protect against ground fire.

You also have The U.S. Navy’s BUAER (Bureau of Aeronautics) Flak Shorts were made from ballistic nylon and protected the groin and lower abdomen from low velocity fragments.
They had a front zip closure protected by a snap fastener cover and featured an adjustable crotch strap. The BUAER shorts were worn with a matching vest by Navy and Marine Corps aircrews early in the Vietnam War.
Look at this tag Nothing Like the ones I posted. These Diapers looks like the M53 and M57 but it is dated 1967.
