Very nice other than the E Tool Cover is Vietnam era M56-the Alice E Tool carriers are the green nylon/rubber type thingys.

Put your buttpack ion the center of the back and attatch the hooks to the 2 D rings above the ALICE clips. Your canteens should hit about the back of the hip in both sides. Bayonet is on the right side between the ammo pouch and the canteen. carlisle pouch will go on the left cloth loop on the suspenders. E-tool was usually attatched to the ALICE pack. At least that's how it was worn in my day. Not a bad set up you got going.

Nice Buttpack,in nice condition.
Lose the M56 E Tool carrier and get the correct ALICE one,will finish off your set nicely.

Hi, thanks for yours comment, this is setup early 80's, with the variant of M56 entreching tools,this is a nostalgic soldier

Would be interested to see pics of the M56 E tool in use with ALICE,have seen M56 Ammo Pouches and M56/M61 Butt Packs used with ALICE but never the E Tool so would love to see pics

Yarg! Don't "lose" the e-tool carrier, just set it aside for use with a 'Nam rig.

Also you might want to slap a compass pouch up on the suspender.
