USMC Sweatshirt.

Hi Guys.

Nothing particularly special about this one, but it has a name in the collar Gonzalez, and has an NSN number on the label, do all USMC commercial items have an NSN???

I have one of those somewhere(and the trs),will have to check the labels on mine.

that is an issued item as part of the USMC PT uniform(Cold Weather).
As of Oct. 1, 2001, the crew neck sweatshirt with emblem is the only authorized sweatshirt worn by Marines, this coming from the Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base website.

Excellent information Ed, that's fantastic, I assumed it was a "commercial" type sweatshirt, but the NSN did throw me a bit..cool thanks a lot Mate

Knew I had one somewhere,had now for a good few years but mine appear to be commercial with NO NSN???

Thanks Gary,shame theyre too big as bought for dossing around the house(both supposedly when bought to be MEDIUM).

That uniform (shirt/trousers) are issused to all Mairnes at Boot camp/OCS as a cold weather PT uniform. The sweatshirt may be worn with the utilities in cold weather. The new USMC running suit is replacing this uniform but is far more expensive and cannot be worn with the utlity uniform. Marines can also buy these items from the "PX" or base store.
