Here is an interesting piece. This is some body armor that belonged to an Iraqi "Terp" (Interpreter).

This piece of Iraqi body armor was made by Point Blank Body Armor.

Name on the inside written in English. I think it says "Titan Amir". These names are also written on the outside of the vest.

Back of vest. Inside the armor plate pocket were two tags that say: RTN to 12".

Sweet! Can't say that I've seen this particular type in 6 color desert before. I'm guessing "Titan" was the Interpreter's nickname?

Titan is what I'd assume as well. I've heard some really funny names that the US soldiers have given their "terps". Stuff like Taco, Rambo, George, etc.

Considering this is a Size 46 vest, I'm guessing the term "Titan" was ironical Very Happy

Could be the reason he was given that name.

That type of vest was issued to the Iraqi Army and was standard issue during the time I was there. Our 'terps wore standard Interceptor body armor but I wouldn't be suprised if one of these vests was issued to a terp. One insight, "Titan" was a contractor company that provided interpreters to US forces, they could be problematic to deal with in my experance.
