2 of 2 , the cover is a Cyprus helmet cover ( looks sort of French lizard), and until I can source a French example ,it will do Wink

Very very nice Gary, puts mine to shame!!!!

What type of rubber inner tube did you use if you dont mind me asking as I am having a job finding suitable tubes as most are too small or a bugger to try to stretch to fit.

Hi Mate, thanks for the compliment Smile

Regarding the inner tubes, I bought the biggest size I could get, and stretched them to fit,not only do they look pretty good, but I have worked on my biceps too..mate I am pumped Laughing

Top tip- The inner tube was treated to a bathing in boiling water, and then when stretchy, I used brute strength and more than a modicum of ignorannce to get the bloody thing to fit!!!

Thanks a lot Graham, twas a labour of love restoring these lids back to their former glories, I just wish I could have sourced some without the layers( And I DO mean layers of Paint!) on one of the shells, overall though they are about as close as I can get them to original ,on a tight budget! Very Happy

Not bad overall though, I just need to source an authentic net,or lizard cover for the other one...French ebay.. here we go again Wink

Yeah I too tried my local garage,he looked at me like I was a fool " Their all tubeless now Mate", yeah I know I need them for a "project" I'm working on I said..no joy there then.

I got an inner tube from a Bristol based company in the end, that's like 180 miles from me !!!!

Cheers Graham, I am very pleased with this one as it's all original and not been messed with!

I got it from French ebay, and was quite a bargain, pity the postage is so high, but it was worth the wait.

I happened to find this one while looking for more French berets, and could not resist it.

Thanks for looking mate, and hope your well!
